This week's sermon message is presented by guest preacher, Rev. Dr. Cody J. Sanders, and is based on Hebrews 11:29-12:2 and Luke 12:49-56.

Rev. Dr. Cody Sanders was also the keynote speaker of the 2025 William M. Johnson Lecture Series, hosted by Crescent Hill Baptist Church.

Rev. Dr. Cody J. Sanders, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Congregational & Community Care Leadership at Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is the author of several books including, most recently, Spiritual Care First Aid: An All-Hands Approach for Church and Community (Fortress, 2025). Prior to joining the faculty of Luther, Cody was pastor to Old Cambridge Baptist Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a chaplain at both Harvard University and MIT. He and his partner, also named Cody, live in Saint Paul.
