Crescent Hill Baptist Church, Louisville, KY, is honoring the legacy of Dr. Diana Richmond Garland (1950-
2015), in its 2021 William M. Johnson Lectures, Sept. 25. Dr. Garland was founding dean of Baylor
University School of Social Work and second dean of Carver School of Church Social Work, Southern
Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Garland devoted her career to integrating faith and social work
practice. Her children, Sarah Garland, a writer and editor, and Rev. John Garland, a pastor, will be
lecturing and preaching on the themes of doing justice and loving mercy within the context of “Caring
for the Least.”

The lectures will start at 2pm on Saturday via Zoom. The lectures are free. Please register below to receive Zoom links and information.
