Prayer in Christian History: An Ecumenical Approach

Dr. Glen Hinson will be leading a course this Spring, beginning May4 – July 6, each Wednesday at 10:30 AM.  You can join the class live via Zoom by clicking here.  The PowerPoint notes can be found below for each session as well as the recorded session 72 hours after the session has ended.

This course will entail a study of the major prayer traditions—beginning with the Psalms, Jesus, and Paul—with major emphasis on four questions:  (1) What is prayer? (2) How do you pray?  (3) How does God fit into the picture?  (4) What prayer does both to the person who prays and to what God is trying to achieve in our world?  This study will complement the class on “Mystics of the Church.”
