Mystics of the Church

Mystics of the Church was a class offered by Dr. Glenn Hinson that focused on the experiential element in a sound faith. Recorded sessions and notes can be found below.

Mystics of the Church

Mystics of the Church will focus on the experiential element in a sound faith. (The others are intellectual, social, and institutional.) It will begin with a definition of mysticism and entail study of the life, thought, and experience of the major Christian contemplatives from Christian beginnings—Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant (Yes, there have been Protestant mystics.)—to our own day. The material for the course will require 14 periods.
